Our client is a fast growing venture backed Internet Company located in New York City. Their video publishing platform that makes it easy for publishers to integrate user-generated video, video that they produce, or video that they discover into their website. They specialize in helping customers incorporate video into their websites and they’ve developed an innovative, highly differentiated product that is on the cutting edge of the online video space. They have a sizeable installed base and excellent reference customers the can leverage as they grow their business. We’re seeking a senior sales executive to complete their management team and build out a sales organization that over the last several years has achieved over 200% avg. annual growth. The Vice President of Sales is responsible for the overall coordination, the functional management and leadership of all of the sales activities of the business.
Opportunity
Planning: Responsible for:
- The establishment of both annual and monthly sales objectives in coordination with the Company's business plan.
- providing periodic updates, revisions and modifications to the Plan
- coordinating the specific objectives of the Sales Plan with the COO, and all of the functional departments of the company
- working with the others on Senior Mgmt Team to establish market and target customer strategies for the Company.
Execution: Responsible for:
- the successful management of the needs of the Company's customers in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies
- developing a sales methodology and process around existing opportunities in the sales funnel, and create a plan for the generation of new opportunities
- Managing all of the field and in house sales functions. The position specifically is responsible for field sales, inside sales and telemarketing
- establishing compensation plans for all sales personnel including salary structures, commission plans, sales contests and bonus plans.
- knowing the market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
Requirements
- You have ideally been responsible for building a sales organization from the ground up, preferably within a venture backed startup.
- You have 7-10+ years experience selling enterprise with at least two of those in a position of sales management.
- SaaS experience preferably in the media, publishing, or other enterprise verticals (ie: non-profit)
- You are happy to source and close deals directly on your own while building out a team.
COMPENSATION
Base $150K+, OTE $225K+, with substantial equity participation.
