Our client sparked the hypervideo revolution in 1998 and reinvented clickable video monetization in 2007 with its leading end-to-end clickable video distribution and monetization platform. They maximize engagement, increase retention, deliver unparalleled metrics and monetizes video in a non-intrusive manner through tier 1 brands and ad networks.

The company’s products and services have matured into a scalable solution that can identify the 3P’s of online video: People, Places and Products. Their algorithms can identify these 3Ps and create detailed hotspots for all objects in video. This allows viewers to interact with any object in the company’s “enabled content”. Through these interactions viewers can learn more about objects, purchase products, get storyline and bios, play along or receive general background info.

They currently employ 25 people in North America, Europe, and South East Asia. The company is privately financed through VCs and sophisticated investors. A seed round of $9.6 million dollars was closed in 2007, including warrants.The management of the company is comprised of seasoned entrepreneurs in the media and multimedia sector, TV network executives, artificial vision scientists, IT architects and venture capitalists.



Opportunity

This new role will plan, direct, monitor, analyze all aspects of the sales and marketing objectives against goals, and provide leadership in selling the company’s SaaS online video platform to tier I networks, content producers and video portals. Initially this will be working with their channel partners in building out their Content Partner/Publisher sites- getting more publishers, media companies, content producers, video portals to license and use the platform, then down the line bring on 2-3 media sales execs to sell media across these content sites to agencies and brands direct.


Responsibilities:


  • Direct and coordinate company sales and marketing functions.

  • Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology.

  • Manage the development of sales materials, including media kits.

  • Direct and oversee the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services.

  • Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development.

  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.

  • Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets, and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets.

  • Plan and coordinate public affairs, and communications efforts, to include public relations and community outreach.

  • Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts, and coordinate the management of all other accounts.

  • Participate in the development of new project proposals.

  • Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

  • Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials.
  • Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company.

  • Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs.

  • Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.

  • Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.

  • Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop five year and ten year business plans for the company.

  • Serve on planning and policy-making committees.

 

Requirements

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.

  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.

  • Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.

  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

  • Masters Degree in Marketing is preferable, and seven to ten years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position coming out of an Online Video Platform. Can be a Director of Sales level out of the Publishing side, but must also understand the media and monetization side as well. Basically a media/pub sales exec with tech, management, and video experience.

  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.


COMPENSATION

Competitive Base and Overall ($250+ first year) plus Commissions, Overrides, and Stock Options.
