Founded in 2005 they are an established fabless semiconductor company that is well funded by top tier venture capital firms, and a clear leader in the area of sensory inputs for the high-volume consumer market (living room entertainment, gaming, and consumer electronics).



Position/Market Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join a very hot growing VC backed company that is on the cutting edge of a groundbreaking disruptive technology in the natural interaction space. They have the core ingredients, technology, and clients to now start driving revenue (will be cash flow positive in 2010) with the various OEM’s in the consumer market verticals (TV’s, Set-Top Boxes, Living Room PC’s, Gaming Consoles). This is an exciting sales and business development strategic role that will be responsible for both Relationship Management and Project Management of the accounts.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities


Relationship management: The Senior Account Mgr will be responsible for all direct contact and communication with the account. He/She will be chartered with strengthening the relations between the account and the company which requires them to learn the organization and broaden the communication path to include more and more relevant people at all levels. Coordination of visits, conference calls and meetings, escalation where those are required, ongoing roadmap development with the account and QBRs, are all functions which fall under this responsibility.

Project management: Once the deal is finalized with the account, the Senior Account Manager will remain the main POC between the Account and the company and will be in charge of ensuring the customer project is executed in a timely and satisfactory manner. In this context the Senior Account Manager becomes the liaison between the customer and the various functions at HQ and must facilitate and keep track of milestones and deliverables being developed at HQ. In case of delays or other project hindrances, the Senior Account Manager will be the one to communicate such issues and help develop a recovery plan, including escalation where necessary. In this area the Senior Account Manager works closely with the various development and engineering depts. at HQ.

Sales Growth and Business Creation:

  1. Once a project is completed and the product launched, the Senior Account Manager should be the one to ensure timely receipt of the forecast from the account, keep track of shipments and payments working with the Operations, Logistics and Accounting at HQ. The AM will also continuously attempt to identify new sales opportunities within the account to grow revenues and maximize the sales potential.

  2. The Senior Account Manager will also be required to assist in identifying and closing deals with new prospect accounts. This is typically a team effort involving others where the Senior Account Manager can be the initiator or assist the effort.


 

Job Requirements and Experience Needed

  • 8+ years of Account Management experience to Fortune 50 technology companies managing OEM projects for hardware systems.

  • Experience selling “systems” comprised of both hardware (ASIC’s) and firmware/software combinations and understands the nuances of what it takes to manage such products and projects within large corporations.

  • A consumer electronics background can also be beneficial. Specifically, Account Managers out of video communications and advanced set-top box systems manufacturers where there are complete systems- both hardware/software combinations are ideal. Companies such as Scientific Atlantic, Logitech, Motorola, etc.

    Characteristics: organized, excellent communications skills, self motivated and disciplined as the position will likely be a home-based one. Service oriented and can manage multiple complex accounts. Business minded with a sense for opportunity identification and the ability to close deals as well as manage relationships.

    Education: The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Engineering (HW / SW) and an advanced degree in Business.



COMPENSATION

Competitive Base ($100K-$125K) - OTE $140K plus equity.
