Our client provides data and technology-driven solutions for leading direct marketers and brand advertisers to increase the effectiveness of customer acquisition, retention, and branding programs across online and traditional marketing channels. They are a privately held, profitable 7 year old company with solid legacy business,120 employees, and have their roots in using offline data for catalogs, coupons, etc. They are now leveraging their own largest proprietary database of SKU Level consumer purchasing behavior (1200 suburban shopping retail stores in their network), along with partnering with other 3rd party data providers, to provide an uber data platform- the leading online ad platform for Real World Data- complementing behaviorally based online marketing for top brands.


Opportunity


To launch this new platform- taking offline data and utilizing it in the online world- they have received a growth equity funding in October of 2009 of $15M from world class venture capital firms. This is a new business unit/start-up within an established company- and an opportunity to go after “top of the funnel” brand dollars and be part of the challenge to convert agencies/advertisers to “buy audiences”. The entire behavioral targeting market is growing rapidly and was hardly $1B of spend in 09. This is a great opportunity for a Director level strategic sales exec to broaden their career with strategic relationship responsibilities, move into a GM role for Agency products ,own P & L, and manage the NYC office over time.


DEMAND CREATION- We are seeking a highly-motivated, results-driven VP who will be responsible for developing and managing digital agency relationships for the Company’s new online ad Platform.  This person will interface with agencies and advertisers to evangelize all data sets available via the Platform.  VP will be passionate about turning strategic plans into practical business opportunities resulting in revenue and will have a proven track record of doing so in the past.  This position will work closely with other members of the senior management team.

Responsibilities


  • Primary manager for all digital agency relationships, including agency trading desks

  • Drive agency adoption of Company's Platform data

  • Develop and manage agency revenue plan

  • Assist in prospecting, negotiating and closing strategic partnerships with key agency partners

  • Actively participate in industry meetings and trade shows for the purpose of promoting their understanding of, and position within, the industry and new business development

  • Interface with channel partners through the Account Manager, working together when overlap arises on specific campaigns (including AdNets, Data Exchanges, Demand-Side Platforms, Publishers) to ensure agency adoption

  • Shape Company's Platform direction to align with agency needs

 

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of generating and/or managing digital agency relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to take an idea from concept to roll-out

  • In-depth knowledge of online advertising processes and techniques

    • Background in Behavioral Targeting preferred

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills

  • Any Auto, CPG, Entertainment Category specialist experience is highly preferred and a beneficial complement to the role and duties

  • Solid verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills with executive level presence

  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, work in teams and be flexible within a dynamic environment

  • Ability to travel

  • BA/BS degree required, MBA is a plus


 

COMPENSATION

Base $150, $100K Bonus- plus equity- Excellent benefits
